I purchased this lamp and loved it. It has two tighteners so you can adjust the position. After adjusting, it was top heavy and fell over a broke. I returned it[...]and got another one. This time I made sure that I did not adjust at all and was very careful. After about a month, when pulling the chain to turn it off the lamp fell into my hands. This time not breaking but the tightener stripped and will not hold the lamp upright. I did not over tighten it, I just made sure that it was secure. My feeling is that this lamp is too heavy for these tighteners to hold it up.

I bought this lamp for my desk. It is absolutely perfect. There is nothing cheap about it. It is very rich looking and very sturdy. This would not be a good light if you wanted to light up a room at all. The best use is for reading and computer work.
