The Blink's ball-shaped shade can be pointed either up or down. The ball also has a hole through it, which allows it to be positioned anywhere on the lamp's chrome stick and fastened in place at heights of 13 to 18 inches. And if you want to remove the shade completely and imitate the alien tripods from War of the Worlds, it also functions as a hand-held flashlight. The shade has an on/off toggle switch, and its light requires a one-watt LED bulb (included). The Blink is an oddball, but it's also kind of a genius.
