      This is a good lamp because it provides fluorescent and incandescent lighting, and can be attached to the edge of a drawing table, so it is good for making color artwork. It's a classic design, but it is not as well made as the luxo lamp. It does not have any manufacturer imprint, and feels a bit like a knock off. The fluorescent bulb has a flimsy way of being held in place, but the lighting it creates is good, and the arm tilt has a wide range.

      When my old adjustable lamp died I spent a good amount of time looking locally -- even lighting stores -- but could only find a few cheap, poorly-made items available. None could use more than a 60-watt bulb, which was totally inadequate for my needs, and were made more for style than function. I found this lamp through an online search. At [$], I felt the price was somewhat higher than I would have liked but it had what I was looking for: range, utility and quality. When I received it, I was surprised as it turned out to be larger than I expected it would be, but that has turned out to be a plus. The cord could be longer by about 2 - 3 feet, but the extra outlet on the base was an unexpected bonus. The incandescent/fluorescent is a very nice feature. At $80 and a longer cord I would have given it 5 stars.

        This is the perfect lamp for drafting, extended reading, or any kind of project. The full spectrum light is bright, shows true colors, and is easy on the eyes. This lamp is sturdy and completely adjustable to any height, angle, or position, or it will swing completely out of the way.
