The lamp's base is sturdily crafted from cast white zinc. It features a bronze finish and an intricately carved base in a traditional style. The lamp requires one 60-watt bulb (not included), and features an inline switch.

With great anticipation, I opened and unwrapped the lamp. At first I was disappointed because I thought I was getting a purple/lilac colored lamp and it was mainly blue. But I told myself it was a great price and it will do for the sewing room corner. But to my surprise when I put bulb in and turned lamp on it was truly purples ! Now I am very pleased with purchase of lamp... it is much prettier turned on and the price is half of another lamp I was considering. It is well made and beautiful design.

I put this lamp in our bedroom on a chest. It is very heavy and well constructed. The price was better on this lamp than anywhere else I found it. The shade was larger than I expected, but it's pretty and all of it illuminates.
